Troubleshooting

"No API key configured"

Open Settings → API Keys and add at least one key. Transfo opens this screen automatically on first launch.

"Rate limited"

You've sent too many requests in a short time. Wait 30–60 seconds and try again. If this happens often, add a second API key as a failover.

"Request timed out"

Check your internet connection. If you're on a slow network, the AI request may take too long. Try again or switch to a different provider.

Recipe panel doesn't appear

Make sure Transfo has Accessibility permissions: System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility → Transfo ✅

Transform gives unexpected results

Check your recipe presets in Settings — the wrong preset can change the output dramatically
Try a different recipe — content detection may have ranked them differently
Use ⌘⇧Z to undo and try again

Clipboard not updating

Transfo only writes to clipboard on successful transforms. Check the toast notification — if it shows an error, the original clipboard is preserved.
