Error Handling
When something goes wrong, Transfo shows a floating toast notification at the top of your screen with a clear message and suggested action.
Error Reference
| Error | Toast Message | What to Do |

| No API key | "No API key configured" | Open Settings → API Keys and add a key |
| Invalid key | "Invalid API key" | Check your key in Settings → API Keys |
| Rate limited | "Rate limited" | Wait a moment and try again |
| Timeout | "Request timed out" | Check your internet connection |
| No internet | "No internet connection" | Connect to a network |
| Server error | "Server error (500)" | The AI provider is temporarily down |
| Empty response | "Empty response" | Try again — the AI returned nothing |
| Validation failed | "Output not applied" | The AI output didn't pass safety checks |
| Provider unavailable | "[Provider] unavailable" | Try a different provider in Settings |
| Local AI failed | "On-device AI failed" | Apple Intelligence couldn't process this |
